Standing on a Mountain

So after a late night at Josh Groban, we woke up early, picked up a couple of friends, drove to Kananaskis, donned our packs and headed 15km up a mountain to Astor Lake. There, we set up camp and slept over night on the snow dusted ground. It was a little chilly (til we got snug in our sleeping bags) but it was a great experience. It was challenging at times but the views were totally worth the effort

The Kick Off to Summer

A few days after school was out, we headed to Raymond for the first of July and for a big family reunion. I left Billy and Brad in Calgary to prepare for their huge boy scout camp happening the following week and they would join us the next day. We got to see my new baby niece who was about to turn one month old, we went to Waterton, stopping at the Temple in Cardston on the way and then in Mountain View to see the house Grandma Selman grew up in.

On the First of July we went to the parade in Raymond but spent more time taking pictures of family there instead of the parade (which is just as well cause I think I have way to many pictures of the parade in years past). We then went to the Charles and Mary Ann Selman (who are my great great grandparents) family reunion which was very well organized and put together. The next day we went as a smaller family (descendents of Mae and Barker Selman, my grandparents) to Henderson Lake in Lethbridge where we had a picnic, played, visited, and all the great grandchildren got a goodie bag with money from Great Grandma Selman.

The three hottest cousins

and their slightly less hot, younger but taller sisters

The great grandkids minus 12 with Grandma Mae - she's 93!

The grandkids minus 5

The grand in-laws minus 4

And our family with Grandma Mae - did I mention she's 93!

After that, Brad and Billy left to go back to Calgary to finish getting ready for their camp.(and they took my camera with them so I have no pictures of the rest of the week) The next day we got smaller again as Brandon and Kevin headed back to Utah, but we still had a big gathering as extended family came over to my moms house for supper and a visit. Melissa and Megan and baby Jana stayed till Wednesday morning and then it was just my mom and I and Adam, Amy and Jenny till Friday morning. It was a wonderful week. I had such a good time. I loved seeing everyone and I didn't want it to end.

Yeah, Schools Out!!

I love having my kids home during the day, therefore the last day of school is my favourite. This year the weather was great and the next day, after the lawn was freshly mowed we enjoyed the day in the sprinkler.

I am looking forward to a long warm summer!!

Even Nova got into it...sort of. The kids threw a treat near the sprinkler so she would even go near it.

Nothing better that a cold drink from the hose, or in this case the sprinkler, on a hot summer day!

It's a dogs life!!
